The Bystander of the Maze Called Life
Life isn’t a straight path—it’s a maze of twists, doubts, and lessons. But you’re not alone. A higher perspective is guiding your way—if you’re willing to listen.
An article from The Brytside Letter.
We often think life is a straight line — a path mapped out by the expectations of society, family, or friends. But in truth, life is more like a maze. We make turns, believing we’re heading the right way, only to find ourselves lost or stuck in places we never intended to be. And suddenly, every next step feels uncertain. Fear creeps in. Confusion takes over.
What we often forget is this: there is a bystander who sees the entire maze from above; it is God who sees it all. The twists and dead ends are not random — they are shaping you, teaching you, preparing you. The journey was never meant to be straight or easy. It was always meant to be transformational, pushing us to ask:
“What am I really meant to do with my life?”
Anyone who has asked that question knows how difficult it is to answer. We assume that if we think long and hard enough, the answer will just appear. But I believe the key is not in forcing clarity or perfect direction — it’s in shifting our focus.
Not on the next turn, but on the One who sees the whole maze.
Not on the fear, but on God.
When we begin to focus on God — on His voice, His presence, His plan — we find something greater than just answers. We find peace. We learn to live not ruled by fear and uncertainty, but guided by purpose and trust.
There’s something powerful in learning to trust God’s guidance in life’s maze, especially when we don’t see the full picture.
We all know the voice of the enemy — that cruel, loud voice in our head that says:
“I can’t do this.”
“I’m not [smart / successful / ..] enough”
“I missed my chance.”
“I deserve this life.”
Those are lies. But the voice of God? It’s different. It’s gentle. Subtle. A whisper that carries truth. Sometimes it arrives as a quiet sense of peace, even when the message is hard. Often, His voice calls us to change — and that’s not easy. Change means risk. But God’s calling always draws us toward a fuller, deeper version of ourselves. And that’s worth everything.
When you hear that inner voice tearing you down, say out loud:
Pray
“In the name of Jesus, silence the lies. Lord, let me hear Your voice — the one that tells me the truth about who You are, who I am, and who others are.”
Then wait. Listen.
The more you listen, the clearer He becomes. And the way to know Him better is simple: spend time with Him. Open Scripture. Sit in stillness. Let His Word shape your ears and your heart.

I’ve heard God’s voice in my own life — often softly, sometimes through chaos, and always with love. That voice led me to write this first article as I begin this new journey with my website. Logically, some things about my path might not make sense. But spiritually, I know: every step, every setback, every moment of doubt has been building something greater. Something only He can see.
Some people plan the next 10 years of their life.
I simply plan to walk with God through the next 10 and beyond — trusting that His plans are better than any I could make. Looking back, I already know they are.
Everything I do, I do for His glory.
Every step I take, I take with Him.
And one day, I know I’ll look back and say:
“It all makes sense now.”
I hope you will too.
Whatever your task, put yourselves into it, as done for the Lord and not for your masters, since you know that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward; you serve the Lord Christ.
— Colossians 3:23–24
On the days you feel down, worried, or weak, may God be beside you, shining His light of peace into your heart.
One of the Bible verses that has always comforted me and is my favorite is Psalm 23. Here we’re reminded that God leads us beside still waters—even in the chaos of life’s maze.
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures;
he leads me beside still waters;
he restores my soul.
He leads me in right paths
for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the darkest valley,
I fear no evil;
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff—
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord
my whole life long.
— Psalm 23
What would it look like if we fully surrendered to God’s guidance in life’s maze, even when it leads us in unfamiliar directions? May God find you, bless you, and fill you with His Spirit — guiding your steps every single day.

¡Gloria a Dios en las alturas!
Jesús, bendice mis pasos y lléname de sabiduría y fe.
